Dressed to Kill – 4 stars (excellent)
"Dressed to Kill" is a psychological thriller so awful I've seen since "Wait Until Dark" with Audrey Hepburn as a blind woman who has recently been terrorized by a trio of thugs while looking for another doll of the they believe to be heroin in his apartment.
Dressed to Kill is so tense and scary, and adds elements of a tense hot shower scene as the female lead Kate Miller (played by none other than Angie Dickinson) pleasures of itself, a sex scene in a taxi that is so hot and so ahead of its time that exploded near the vehicle, and a cutting knife murder scene in an elevator that goes beyond graphics.
This is a disturbing film involving women, unfortunate that the lack of libido, an anonymous lover, a psychiatrist, a psycho, a stalker and a serial murderer, not to speak of female nudity, eroticism, vulgarity and transsexuality.
The DVD version that he had praised the traditional version and the uncut version, I opted for the uncut version. Despite all horrible elements, Dressed to Kill is an excellent production (at least the uncut version) as a psychological thriller with horror, because all of the above actually add the line in history and as such, are not sensational enough to attract the attention of drama development.
We thank Brian De Palma for that. De Palma wrote and directed this film, with surprising results, its mystery, murder is up to the best of the best. So many writer / director result of efforts in terrible movies. The film was released in 1980, 27 years ago.
In the film, Kate Miller (Angie Dickinson), one of middle-aged, sexually frustrated housewife, has a fantasy to take a shower and later that day to his complaints psychiatrist Dr. Robert Elliott (Michael Caine) about the performance pathos of her husband in bed.
Kate goes to a museum and finds a strange man (Ken Baker), which ends with a taxi on the way to his apartment for more sex. While there, she discovers that the man has a sexually transmitted disease and that the bolts, only to return when she realizes off and forgot his wedding ring.
After his return to his feet, is brutally reduced to the death of a tall blond woman in dark glasses. A high price call girl (Nancy Allen) is the only witness to the murder and becomes the next target of the Slasher. She is saved by Kate's son Peter (Keith Gordon), urging their assistance in the area for fear to solve the murder of his mother.
Dressed to Kill is charged with writing intelligent tracks that are right for you at first glance. Rarely watch more dramas I have seen enough in my life and adventure as the action natural disasters and dramas today are absolutely ridiculous in premise and presentation.
Fans of Angie Dickinson will be comforted to know that the body double was used in the shower scene in the movie. You might also have Angie. Two years later Dressed to Kill, when she was 50 and still in surgery, a group of designers, makeup artists in Hollywood in 1982 and its first in a list Highlights of the best female.
Angie said the taxi scene was filmed on site in New York, where several onlookers watched the scene and shouted: "Right on, Police Woman "(referring to his previous role of television: the sergeant." Pepper "Anderson, the thriller" Police Woman ").
Sex and violence in this film to make a terrible choice to be seen by anyone except adults, and adults who can address these issues without being terribly affected. This limits the popularity of the film and almost no money for film-making effort.
As a murder mystery that I call Dressed to kill as excellent and very very Scary Movie.
